Why Dr. John Nowak
He Became a Chiropractor Because It Changed His Life
In 1973, Dr. John Nowak slipped on a wet floor and hurt his back. He was in pain, struggling to get comfortable, and not sure where to turn. A chiropractor helped him feel better than he had in years — and then took the time to explain why. How the spine works. How the nervous system affects everything. How keeping it healthy matters more than most people realize.
That experience stayed with him. He enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic — the school where chiropractic was born — graduated in 1980, and opened Nowak Chiropractic in South Buffalo in 1982. He hasn't left.
Over 40 years later, Dr. John is still here. Still seeing patients one on one. Still explaining things in plain language. Still treating the South Buffalo community he's called home his entire career.
A Doctor Who Has Seen It All — And Keeps Learning
Chiropractic doesn't stand still, and neither does Dr. John. He completed continuing education courses as recently as 2024 — covering spinal manipulation, diagnostic imaging, and nerve entrapment treatment — because his patients deserve a doctor who stays current.

Went away with the military last month. Came home and sciatica was out of whack to the point I couldn't get out of bed.
