Were You in a No-Fault Auto Accident?
If you were recently injured in a car accident and want to schedule as a no-fault patient, please mention that when you call.
No-fault cases involve additional paperwork and your first appointment will be scheduled with a little extra time to accommodate that. Have your no-fault insurance information ready when you call — specifically who to bill for your treatment.
What to Bring to Your First Appointment

✔ Any relevant medical records or imaging if you have them

What to Expect at Your First Visit
Arrival & Paperwork
When you arrive for your first appointment, you'll fill out new patient paperwork at the office. This is standard intake information — your health history, the reason for your visit, and your insurance details.

No-fault patients have significantly more paperwork due to the nature of the insurance process. If you are coming in as a no-fault patient, you will have the option to take your forms home to complete at your own pace before your appointment.
Your Consultation with Dr. John
Once your paperwork is complete, you'll sit down with Dr. John directly. He'll go over your health history, ask about your symptoms, and take the time to understand what's been going on.
This is your opportunity to explain what you're dealing with in your own words — Dr. John listens before he acts.
Your Examination
After your consultation, Dr. John will perform a hands-on physical examination of the affected area. He'll assess your range of motion, spinal alignment, and any areas of restriction or tenderness to get a clear picture of what's causing your symptoms.
If imaging is needed — such as X-rays or an MRI — Dr. John will refer you to an appropriate facility. Imaging is not performed in the office, but when it's clinically indicated he will make sure you get it.
Your First Treatment
At Nowak Chiropractic, new patients are treated at their first visit — every time. You won't leave your first appointment without having received care. Dr. John believes that if you came in with pain, you should leave having done something about it.
How Long Will It Take?
For most new patients, plan on 30 to 40 minutes for your first visit.
No-fault auto injury patients should plan on 45 to 60 minutes due to the additional paperwork and documentation involved in no-fault cases.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

This is one of the most common questions new patients ask — and the honest answer is that it depends on what's going on, how long it's been going on, and how your body responds to care.

Some patients come in with a recent injury, respond quickly to treatment, and are feeling significantly better within a handful of visits. Others have been dealing with chronic pain for years, and while chiropractic can make a real difference, longer-term care is sometimes needed to get lasting results.

Dr. John will never put you on a treatment plan you don't need. His approach is straightforward — treat what's there, assess how you're responding, and adjust accordingly. He'll tell you honestly what he thinks you need and why. If chiropractic isn't the right fit for what you're dealing with, he'll tell you that too and point you somewhere better.

What you won't find at Nowak Chiropractic is pressure to commit to a long series of prepaid visits before you've had a chance to see how you respond. Come in, get treated, and go from there.
